Disease: Recurrent ischaemic stroke
Purpose: To compare the effectiveness of warfarin and aspirin in the prevention of recurrent ischaemic stroke and death
Study Design: Randomised, double-blind, double-dummy, parallel-group
Follow-up: 2 years
Patients: Aim 1920 patients, age 30-85 years, with cerebral infarction < 30 days
Treatmentregimen: Warfarin, to target international normalised ratio 1.4-2.8, plus aspirin placebo, or aspirin, 325 mg/day, plus warfarin placebo
